RIFLE FUNDAMENTALS

An entry level curriculum designed for the shooter with no formal or minimal rifle/carbine training, this course will progress the shooter through the basic skills necessary to properly and safely handle and deploy a rifle in an efficient and effective manner. The course material will emphasize the core fundamentals of marksmanship and other critical, but often overlooked skill sets

  • Firearms safety rules
  • Establishing a proper zero
  • 7 Fundamentals of Marksmanship
  • Ready positions/presentation
  • Clearing malfunctions
  • Proactive and reactive reloads
  • Positional shooting

REQUIRED EQUIPMENT

  • A functional and practical carbine or battle rifle
  • 400 rounds of ammunition
  • 4 working carbine magazines
  • Ear and eye protection
  • Clothing suited to strenuous activity

RECOMMENDED EQUIPMENT

  • Single point or multi point sling
  • Carbine magazine pouch or holder
  • Gun belt and gloves

RIFLE DYNAMICS

his course is designed to give the intermediate or advanced shooter the proper carbine fundamentals. Starting with mindset, the class focuses on acceptable accuracy under dynamic stress, and how to effectively balance speed and accuracy with proper weapon manipulation during a real world encounter. Specific drills will be presented to allow shooters to hone and develop strong weapon manipulation skills in a safe and combat effective manner.

  • Balance of Speed and Accuracy

  • Instinctive Shooting
  • Multiple threat engagements
  • Target Discrimination drills
  • Improvised shooting positions
  • Shooting while moving
  • Intro 2-man and 4-man team movement

REQUIRED EQUIPMENT

  • A functional and practical carbine or battle rifle
  • A secondary weapon (handgun) of choice
  • 400 rounds of carbine ammunition
  • 100 rounds of handgun ammunition
  • Proper belt and holster with magazine pouches
  • Single or dual point sling
  • 4 carbine magazines / 2 handgun magazines
  • Ear and eye protection
  • Clothing suited to strenuous activity.
