Course Structure
This four-hour private session covers:
- Dry-fire rehearsals to build safe, repeatable habits without live ammo
- Live-fire drills with immediate feedback to reinforce fundamentals
- Error diagnosis and correction for stance, grip, sight alignment, and trigger control
- SIRT Pistol integration for safe, effective practice (nextleveltraining.com)
- Proficiency drills to develop accuracy and confidence at defensive distances
- Situational awareness: avoiding tunnel vision and recognizing additional threats
Safety & Transport Requirements
- Arrive with unloaded pistols and magazines; loaded guns or mags will result in removal without a refund
- Pistols must be boxed or bagged, slide locked open
- Ammunition must be stored in original factory boxes, separate from firearms
What to Bring
- Government-issued photo ID
- Semi-auto pistol or revolver in good working order
- Minimum three magazines
- 200-300 rounds of factory-loaded ammo
- Sturdy belt and OWB holster (no IWB permitted for this class)
- Eye and ear protection
- Closed-toe shoes, range-appropriate clothing
- Notepad and pen

Practice at home between sessions: the dry-fire gear I recommend
Between range days, dry fire is where the fundamentals get built. The tool I tell my students to use is the SIRT laser training pistol from Next Level Training: a resetting trigger and a laser that shows your trigger press, with zero live ammunition. Frequently Asked Questions
Is this for beginners?
Yes. You do not need previous shooting experience. Tell Stephen if you have never handled a handgun so instruction can start at your current level. Youth shooters (12+) must have a parent present.
Do I need a CCW to take this class?
No, this is skill training, not a licensing class. If you’re looking for a CCW or the benefits of having a concealed carry permit in Florida, read more here.
Training if it’s raining?
We train rain or shine unless unsafe. If we cancel, we’ll reschedule you.
Can someone observe my session?
No, this is one-on-one, allowing you to focus and progress faster.
Can I take a lesson if I do not own a handgun?
Limited pistol and gear rentals are available case by case. Contact Stephen in advance to confirm availability and the equipment you will need. The listed rental charge is $35; ammunition is charged separately at market price.
