At Tactical U, this 4‑hour advanced course prepares experienced shooters and graduates of Tactical U fundamentals to master the realities of concealed carry under stress. Through scenario‑based training and real‑world drills, you’ll learn how to recognize threats early, manage close‑quarters encounters, navigate Florida law, and survive both the fight and its aftermath.

Course Structure
Mindset & Legal Foundation
- Situational awareness and early threat recognition
- Florida statutes and the reality: you will revert to your training, not your intentions
Garment Clearing & Concealed Draw Drills
- Safe, repeatable techniques for drawing from concealment
- Clothing considerations and obstruction management
Retention & Contact Shooting
- Apply the 21‑foot rule to identify immediate threats
- Engage effectively at extreme close distances if retreat is not possible
Verbal Commands & De‑Escalation
- Practice issuing clear, assertive commands:
“Police! Help! Someone help me!”
“Please, I don’t want to do this. Go away!” - Retreat when possible to strengthen your legal defense
- Reinforce your role as the victim for witnesses and officers
Aftermath & Surviving Police Response
- Shoot only to neutralize the threat, once the threat stops, so must you
- Understand you don’t have to wait to be attacked; you must be able to articulate why you believed your life was in danger
- Hot scene vs. cold scene: what to expect and how to adapt
- 911 protocol: give minimal details, request police and medical, stay calm
- Police arrival: weapon holstered, hands visible, immediate compliance
- Rendering aid if safe, preventing tampering, and managing crowds
- Knowing when to stay and when leaving is the safer option, and how to communicate that to 911
Setup & Requirements
- OWB holsters strongly preferred; IWB permitted only with prior proficiency
- Firearms must arrive unloaded
- Pistols transported locked open in a case or bag; ammunition in original boxes, separate from firearms
- Any violation of safety protocols results in removal without refund

- OWB holster (IWB if proficiency approved)

Does Stand Your Ground mean I never retreat?
No. While Florida law does not require retreat, doing so when safe can only strengthen your legal defense.
Will I get a certificate of completion?
Yes. All graduates receive a Tactical U certificate of completion.
