Tactical U offers 2-hour and 4-hour private CCW certification courses in Fort Lauderdale and Broward County. Stephen Cohen has been certifying concealed carry permit holders in South Florida since 2010. Courses are available at Apex Shooting Center in Fort Lauderdale and Declaration Defense in Pompano Beach, depending on course type and scheduling. You get qualified for your Florida Concealed Weapon License and you get real instruction on how to carry responsibly and stay on the right side of the law.
Florida passed permitless carry in 2023. You can carry concealed without a license in this state if you meet the legal requirements. That does not mean you should carry without training, and it does not mean the Florida CWL is irrelevant.

Once you complete the course, Stephen Cohen provides your certificate of training. You submit your application to the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services with your certificate, a recent photo, and fingerprints. Processing times vary

Is this class for first-time shooters?

Does this qualify me for a Florida CWL?
Yes. Both courses meet Florida’s state-approved training requirement for concealed weapon license applicants.
Does my Florida CWL work in other states?
Florida’s CWL is recognized in a number of other states. Permitless carry does not cross state lines. If you travel with a firearm, the license is what protects you.
