Training: Fort Lauderdale or North Miami. Serving Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach County.
This private 4-hour Florida CCW/CWL certification course combines licensing instruction with deeper handgun skill development. Stephen L. Cohen brings more than 32 years of law-enforcement experience and works with you one-on-one through safety, Florida carry rules, marksmanship, holster mechanics, and live-fire qualification.
Coming from Palm Beach County? Review our Palm Beach County concealed carry training options before you book.
This private four-hour session is organized into three working phases:
We begin with Florida CWL requirements, prohibited locations, use-of-force responsibilities, range safety, and the handgun fundamentals that support consistent shooting.
With no ammunition present, you rehearse a safe outside-the-waistband draw, presentation, reholstering, grip, sight alignment, and trigger control under direct instructor supervision.
The live-fire phase develops accuracy and control at practical distances and completes the shooting component required for the Florida CWL training certificate.
Includes a pistol, rigid OWB holster, two magazines, and eye and ear protection.
Ammo is not included. If you rent, Tactical U will source the required ammunition at the current market price.

The four-hour class includes repeated draw and reholstering practice. A rigid outside-the-waistband holster gives the instructor a clearer, safer training setup than concealed inside-the-waistband work.
The certificate supports a Florida CWL application. Florida permitless carry eligibility is a separate legal question, and students remain responsible for meeting all current requirements.
A Florida CWL can provide benefits such as reciprocity when traveling and evidence of formal training. Current laws and destination-state rules still control.
